SCOTTISH TERRIER RESCUE
St. Louis Scottish Terrier Rescue is dedicated to the rescuing, vetting & re-homing of Scotties and their Terrier cousins.
The STLSTR family of volunteers help the dogs in need in MO, AL, AR, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MN, MS, TN, WI and portions of NE and VA. Our Scotties come from animal shelters, commercial breeders, and owner releases. We completely vet every dog to the best of our abilities. Each dog is spayed/neutered, tested for heartworms and given all applicable vaccinations. A Scottie in our rescue lives in a foster home where he will receive one on one attention and evaluation along with a lot of love. Scotties ready for adoption can be found via the Available Dogs button above. Adoption fees are reasonable but rarely cover the full cost of each dog. Donations through our PayPal link and our frequent fundraisers raise money to pay for vet bills, food, medications, collars, leashes, harnesses and other supplies. |

The Scottish Terrier… As a guard it is impossible to better him. He gives his warning, and if it passes unheeded, he shows very definitely that he is there and in charge. He is self-centered, deep-natured with a soul both for laughter and tragedy… .
There is nothing frothy or shallow in the nature of a Scottie. He never forgets–his heart may break with grief, but he will not yowl about it. He is absolutely honourable, incapable of a mean or petty action, large hearted and loving, with the soul and mind of an honest gentleman.
